Soft Pretzels

I promise- don't be intimidated by making soft pretzels. They're easy and completely delicious- and you can put whatever you like on them- salt, cinnamon sugar, or whatever you can think of. This isn't my traditional recipe, as I couldn't find that one, but these were just as good!

This is the dough just mixed up, before rising.

And here's the dough after rising- doubled in size and smoother looking.

And here are the pretzels ready for the oven- shout out to my boyfriend Danny for helping me!

Soft Pretzels
-1 packet active dry yeast
-1 cup warm water
-1/4 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon salt
-2 tablespoons butter
-1 egg
-3 1/4 cup flour
-egg yolk + water for brushing on the pretzels before baking
Dissolve the yeast in the water, then mix all ingredients together. Let rise until doubled in size.
Shape into pretzels, and let rise for about 20 minutes. Brush pretzels with egg yolk and water, then sprinkle with salt or cinnamon sugar.
Bake at 400 F for 15-20 minutes and enjoy!

And here are the finished pretzels- I hope you give these a shot!

Savor it!
love, rue
